FAQ
Do you scrape Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist or OfferUp?
No. Flip Canary never crawls or scrapes any marketplace. You bring the listing by pasting the text or a screenshot. We only analyze what you send us, and we don't republish anyone's photos or listing text.
Can I just paste a link?
Paste the listing text or a screenshot. A link on its own isn't enough, because we don't visit marketplace pages for you. That's part of not scraping.
Do I need an account?
No. The free plan works right away in your browser, up to 5 checks a day.
How do you know what something resells for?
We match the item against resale comps (recent price ranges for that exact model), then subtract realistic selling fees, shipping and prep time. Every answer shows where its numbers came from and a confidence level.
Can it guarantee a listing isn't a scam?
No tool can. Flip Canary flags the patterns that keep showing up in classifieds scams, like prepayment, shipping-only deals, sellers who can't meet, and prices that are too good to be true. Always inspect in person and pay at pickup.
What do you store?
Your own check history, so you can look back at deals. You can delete it anytime. The waitlist only stores your email address and the plan you picked. The details are in our Privacy Policy.
What kinds of items work best?
Things people flip locally: generators, power tools, golf carts, small engines, electronics, collectibles, furniture and more. Unusual one-offs get a lower confidence score.
How do I contact you?
Email hello@flipcanary.com. That's also where to send questions, feedback, or a request to see or delete your data.
